Pre-session update
Since the election, I’ve been busy crisscrossing the district and state meeting with constituents, business owners, school and college officials, local and state leaders, and the heads of area agencies. I’ve learned a great deal during the meetings and plan to take the information I’ve learned with me to Topeka.
I will officially take the oath of office when the legislature convenes on Monday, January 9th and I’m looking forward to going to work for the people of the 32nd district.
I been appointed to serve on the following committees: Education, Assessment and Taxation, Commerce and Ways and Means.
We will have a number of big challenges, primarily dealing with the state budget, that legislature and the Governor will have to tackle. I suspect other issues including Medicaid expansion and concealed carry on campus (among other issues) will also come up during the
session.
As always, I welcome your questions, comments, issues and concerns. You can contact me by email at larry.alley@senate.ks.gov. You can also visit my office (541-E Office A) at the capitol in Topeka during the session.
Sondra and I thank you for your continued support and most importantly your prayers.
Have a happy and healthy new year!
In service,
Larry Alley
